Microabrasion

A conservative way to reduce certain surface stains and mottling on enamel.

Microabrasion

Overview

Microabrasion uses a mild abrasive polish combined with acid gel in a controlled way to remove a thin layer of surface enamel where stains sit. It suits some developmental or superficial discolouration—not deep internal greying. We assess whether microabrasion, whitening, or veneers is the better fit for your case.

Benefits

Minimally invasive when indicated

Often completed in one or a few visits

Can blend with other cosmetic treatments

Treatment Process

After confirming suitability, isolated teeth are treated with a controlled technique under magnification. Sensitivity and enamel thickness are monitored. Protective advice and sometimes fluoride follow to support comfort and enamel health.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it the same as teeth whitening?

No. Whitening lightens overall tooth colour; microabrasion targets specific surface enamel defects in selected cases.

Will it weaken my teeth?

Only a minimal thickness of enamel is involved when the technique is used for the right indications.
